Delhi High Court gives 'Last Opportunity' to Twitter to show compliance and appointments under new IT rules

The Delhi High Court on 28th July 2021 said Twitter was in total non-compliance of IT Rules and granted the American social networking company one week time as a “Last Opportunity” to file better affidavits showing its compliance with the details over the person appointed as the Chief Compliance Officer and Grievance Officer.
A single judge bench of Justice Rekha Palli said that affidavits filed by the company “clearly show total non-compliance of the rules.
"Are you serious about it," asked Justice Rekha Palli and criticised Twitter after taking note of the affidavits filed by the company.
It also asked the company to furnish reasons as to why a nodal contact person was not appointed until now, and by when such a person would be appointed.
